The negotiations between Inter and Udinese for Oumar Solet have come to an abrupt halt. According to reports from Messaggero Veneto, the defender underwent medical examinations by the Nerazzurri staff, which reportedly raised concerns about his physical condition.
The agreement between the parties seemed to be finalized: the Nerazzurri club had reached an understanding with the player for a contract worth 2.4 million euros over five seasons. With the Friulian club, they had agreed on a paid loan with an obligation to buy after the first point earned in February 2027.
However, the specialist examinations reportedly raised serious doubts related to an alleged chronic cartilage problem in one knee. This type of condition could pose a risk, especially in the case of closely scheduled matches, prompting Inter to halt the deal.
The other issue concerns the financial evaluation: Gino Pozzo is asking for no less than 25 million euros for the center-back, a figure that has further cooled the talks. The newspaper points out that the medical concerns are yet to be proven, considering that Solet played 35 matches last season for a total of 2,961 minutes.
The Nerazzurri club is still searching for a defender after the departures of Acerbi, Darmian, and De Vrij. The track leading to the Udinese player, after being among the first options in the summer transfer market, now appears decidedly complicated.
