The 2026-27 season is shaping up to be the last in black and blue for Hakan Calhanoglu. According to the Corriere dello Sport, it is unlikely that the Turkish midfielder will remain in Milan beyond the natural expiration of his contract.

The former Milan player intends to end his experience at Inter in the best possible way, with the ambition to redeem a World Cup that ended prematurely with the Turkish national team after 24 years of waiting. It is not yet clear whether he will be able to join the team for the last days of the training camp in Germany or if he will join directly during the Asian tour.

The main objective remains to regain optimal physical condition, after seasons complicated by various physical problems. The numbers confirm the decline: from the peaks reached under Inzaghi, with 3,502 minutes in the 2022/23 season and 3,260 in 2023/24, Calhanoglu dropped to 2,137 minutes in the last campaign.

This situation will require Cristian Chivu to manage carefully in order to limit interruptions and ensure continuity for the midfielder throughout the season.
