Inter has initiated direct contacts for Cristian Romero. The Nerazzurri club has set the amount it is willing to invest: around 40 million euros including fixed part and bonuses. Negotiations with Tottenham have now entered the operational phase, with Ausilio back from Germany and ready to develop the deal.

According to Sportitalia, Ciro Palermo, agent of the Argentine defender, has been in Milan for several days. The player has given his full availability for the transfer and would welcome a return to Serie A, a league in which he has already played with Genoa and Atalanta.

From the English side, there are signs of openness. Tottenham has already invested over 200 million on the market and will need to lighten the squad through some sales. Romero is among the players available for transfer and contacts between the two clubs are ongoing.
