Yesterday’s day for Inter was marked by the group draw for the Club World Cup 2025, a tournament in which the Nerazzurri will also participate. Simone Inzaghi’s team has been placed in Group E where they will face River Plate, Monterrey and Urawa Red Diamonds.
At the sidelines of the event in Miami where all the groups of this competition were revealed, the Nerazzurri vice-president Javier Zanetti made some remarks. Here are the words of the former captain collected from the official club channels: “We have a competitive group and we will prepare in the best way for this big appointment. There is a great passion for football in this country, this event will allow many fans to get even closer to football, living an incredible experience. Usually, the favorites are the big European teams, like Manchester City and Real Madrid, teams that we are used to facing”.
Finally Zanetti warns that the group of this new Club World Cup with 32 teams will not be easy and there are no given matches because all will have to be won on the field: “This will be the first edition of this World Cup, surely all the clubs present are happy to participate. We will come to this competition at the end of the major championships, all the players will be well trained and ready, through proper preparation, to face this World Cup. In our group, there is not only River Plate but also Monterrey and Urawa Red Diamonds: There is never anything taken for granted in these competitions. All games must be played with caution as they come at a particular time of the season and depend on the form in which the teams will arrive. Things will have to be done well, end the season in the best way and then think about the Club World Cup”.
