The upcoming summer will be completely new from a football perspective because it will be held from June 15 to July 13, the first World Cup for Clubs with 32 teams. This will involve an extension of the season for the various participating clubs that will have to manage their rosters since the games are in the summer, the time when players are transferred through the market.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport points out this morning, FIFA has come up with a new mini transfer session that will last from June 1 to June 10 to allow clubs registered for the World Cup to make some useful incoming transfers for this competition.

Normally, the transfer session would have opened on July 1, and for example, in the case of Inter a year ago, they wouldn’t have been able to participate in the World Cup with two players like Zielinski and Taremi who were signed free in the previous months but were officially registered only at the beginning of July.

This summer it will not be the same because the various World Cup for Clubs clubs will be able to trade in the first 10 days of June in order to complete their squads before presenting a list of players called up for the tournament with a minimum of 26 players and a maximum of 35 before that there will be a maxi pre-list of 50 players.
