In recent days, discussions have reignited over the capital gains case involving Napoli, specifically concerning two player transfers: Kostas Manolas in the summer of 2019 and Victor Osimhen the following year. This renewed attention comes after reports from la Repubblica, stating that the FIGC’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office has received investigative documents from Rome’s prosecutor’s office.

Regarding this matter, the lawyer Roberto Afeltra spoke to TMW Radio about possible consequences for Napoli, saying: The serious issue is that the sports prosecutor’s office has obtained documents from the criminal proceedings. It must be verified if there are additional elements not previously considered by the sports justice system, which previously acquitted the club and its president. If the statements of the four players involved in the Osimhen exchange were not previously considered by the Federal Prosecutor—as I believe is the case—there is a significant risk that Napoli could face points deduction this season.

This scenario remains highly unlikely as things stand, but if confirmed it would directly impact the ongoing season and the fight for the Serie A title, with Napoli currently just three points behind league leaders Inter.
