The English midfielder arrives in Milan after a career spent entirely at Anfield, where he played since his youth days. Curtis Jones changes shirts and the choice of number could represent something new compared to the past. The 17, which he wore at Liverpool, is currently owned by Andy Diouf.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, that number has a special meaning for Jones: it corresponds to the door of the house where he grew up. The player had been with the Reds since the age of nine and now leaves England together with his partner Saffie and his daughter Giselle.

His journey in the youth sector was followed by Gerrard in the Under 18s, idol of his and many Liverpool boys. At seventeen he made his debut in the FA Cup, while a year later he scored in the Cup again at Anfield against Everton. At nineteen he wore the captain’s armband, but was unable to match the career of his mentor.

In his trophy cabinet he brings two Premier Leagues, two League Cups, one FA Cup, the Club World Cup and the Community Shield, collected in 228 appearances with 22 goals. With the English national team he won the Under 21 European Championship in 2023 and made his debut with the seniors at the end of 2024 against Greece in the Nations League, totaling six appearances and one goal. However, the lack of continuity at the club ended up distancing him from the senior squad as well.
