The Inter transfer market could deliver one last surprise: according to the Corriere della Sera, in the final sprint of the summer session a striker could arrive. A move that would close a transfer campaign already rich in quality additions.
Curtis Jones, expected in Italy today, completes the English trio together with Stones and Spence. The Milanese newspaper describes the midfielder arriving from Liverpool as “modern and versatile, quick in box-to-box play, good both in covering and in launching the action.”
The Nerazzurri midfield has reached a remarkable level: seven interchangeable players including Barella, Calhanoglu, Zielinski, Mkhitaryan and Sucic, in addition to the good preseason played by Stankovic. A department that guarantees tactical options and quality replacements.
In defense, Akanji will be able to line up alongside his new teammate, his former partner at Manchester City, on the right center side. Bisseck remains in the squad, described as “a force of nature even if he shows a few too many lapses.”
On the right wing, the most delicate task falls to Spence: not to make people miss Dumfries, who provided physicality, pace, and goals. The former Tottenham player, who had a good World Cup and knows Serie A thanks to his experience at Genoa, “is not as good as the Dutchman, but has room for improvement and learns quickly.”
The first challenge for the Englishman will be to win the ballot with Diouf, the revelation of Inter’s summer. Chivu has successfully experimented with the youngster on the right flank, so much so that the club is reportedly considering selling Luis Henrique to Roma.
