Fabrizio Romano confirmed on his YouTube channel that Inter is in concrete negotiations for Cristian Romero. The Nerazzurri club has initiated direct contacts both with Tottenham and with the entourage of the Argentine defender. In the last few hours, confirmation has arrived of a dialogue with the player’s agents as well, following the first meeting between the clubs.
The deal has become an absolute priority for the Nerazzurri, who are working on the numbers of the deal, both regarding the transfer fee and the salary. Romano specified that the negotiation is not closed, but the interest is concrete and contacts have been initiated. The club is assessing the economic feasibility of the operation before proceeding with further steps.
Precisely because of the centrality of the Romero dossier, Inter has put the search for a winger on standby. That position still needs to be filled, but at the moment the management’s priority is to understand if and how to close the deal for the central defender. Developments are expected in the coming days, with the Nerazzurri aiming to define the overall framework of the operation.
