Inter has definitively abandoned the Trevoh Chalobah track to focus on a target considered a priority. Fabrizio Romano provided an update on the YouTube channel dedicated to the transfer market, clarifying the situation regarding the search for a defensive reinforcement.
Regarding the Chelsea defender, the Nerazzurri had conducted in-depth evaluations in recent weeks, going so far as to speak with the player’s entourage and obtaining his approval. However, the deal was never completed and, above all, there was never any official contact with the London club. As a result, Chelsea continued to consider Chalobah available on the market.
“Inter has disappeared from the Chalobah front for two weeks, just as they did with Solet in June, they did the same with Chalobah in July: they made their evaluations and chose not to proceed, also because all their attention is now focused on Romero,” explained Romano.
Cristian Romero is now the main target for the Nerazzurri defense. Contacts between Inter and Tottenham are already underway: the two clubs are in talks and the English side have shown themselves open to negotiating the sale of the Argentine defender. The financial aspect of the deal still needs to be defined, complicated by the significant salary Romero signed last year with the Spurs. According to Romano, direct contacts with the player began last night to discuss the personal terms of a possible transfer.
