According to Tuttosport, last summer Inter rejected numerous loan requests for Lavelli, the 2006-born striker whom Chivu used against Fiorentina, receiving positive responses from the youngster.
In particular, four Serie B clubs had made requests: Padova, Catanzaro, Modena, and Sudtirol. All were rejected by the Baccin-Chivu duo, convinced that the current path was the right one for the young striker: a key player in the Under 23 with the Second Team, with the goal of carving out a place among the seniors.
Not only Serie B: Genoa had also explored the possibility of purchasing the 2006-born player’s contract, but did not receive a different response. Inter chose to lock him down, confirming their trust with a contract renewal until 2030.
Now Lavelli is a candidate to become the fifth striker of the first team, a path that the Nerazzurri club had already planned months ago, resisting the pressures coming from the market.
