Inter faces an important moment in its season, playing at home against Bayern Munich in the return leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. On Wednesday, April 16 at 9:00 pm, at San Siro, the Nerazzurri will begin the match starting from a 2-1 defeat in the first leg, giving the Bavarians a slight advantage.

Regarding the match between Inter and Bayern Munich, UEFA has officially appointed referee Slavko Vincic to oversee the game. The Slovenian official will be assisted by linesmen Tomaz Klancnik and Andraz Kovacic, with Matej Jug as the fourth official. Completing the all-Slovenian refereeing team are Alen Borosak as VAR chief and Dennis Higler assisting him.

The Slovenian referee, who officiated the last Champions League final, has a varied history with Inter. In four previous matches, the Nerazzurri have won only once: a 2022 victory over Barcelona, decided by a Calhanoglu goal. Before this came two draws: 1-1 in the Europa League against Saint-Étienne in 2014, and a 0-0 Champions League home draw against Shakhtar Donetsk in 2020.

The most painful memory, however, is the latest encounter, marking Inter’s only Champions League defeat this season. That came away against Bayer Leverkusen on December 10. The Nerazzurri lost 1-0 due to a 90th-minute goal by Mukiele resulting from a corner kick. The goal sparked controversy, as the incident leading to the corner involved a clear offside by Frimpong that was missed by the officials.
