Spence speeds up the process: possible call-up already against Monza

Djed Spence landed in Milan yesterday to begin the journey that will lead him to wear the Inter jersey. Medical examinations, contract signing, and then on to athletic training for the English winger, who arrives without having done any real training after securing third place at the World Cup with England.

While the team will travel to Bari for Ferragosto, Spence will complete the bureaucratic procedures for his work visa and begin training between Sunday and Monday. An entire week before the match against Monza that will open the Nerazzurri’s season, a seemingly short time to consider an immediate debut.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, however, there remains the desire to fast-track things and try to secure a call-up for the first matchday. The not-so-hidden dream is to make a brief appearance at San Siro: if the flow of the match allows and his aerobic data is positive, coming off the bench would not be out of the question.

Next Saturday, Diouf is expected to start, but in the initial hierarchy, the Englishman is considered the first-choice starter, also in light of the recent investment made by the Nerazzurri club.
