The Inter market continues after the arrival of Spence. The next target remains Curtis Jones, a midfielder from Liverpool whom the management considers a highly strategic signing. The negotiation is in a study phase: the club is waiting for the right moment to present a new offer to the Reds, aware of the complexity of dealing with one of the least economical clubs in Europe.
The first condition for the move was met with the departure of Frattesi to Lazio. The midfielder leaves Milan after helping to win the second league title and carrying the team through crucial moments in the Champions League. However, his position will not remain vacant: Chivu already has six midfielders, with a starter and an alternative for each role. In front of the playmaker Stankovic, who serves as deputy to Calhanoglu, there are the midfielders Zielinski, Barella, Sucic, and Mkhitaryan.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Jones would be the seventh member of the group. The English midfielder has technical qualities—from acceleration to making runs into the box—that no other Inter player has in their repertoire, which is why he is so sought after by the coaching staff.
The fact that from January the player can sign on a free transfer has led Liverpool to lower their demands, but not enough to allow for an immediate deal. Inter’s transfer team aims to further reduce the price, and the passing of time may help them in this goal. The main ally, however, is Jones himself: the midfielder does not want to hear about any team other than Inter and continues to like every social media post related to the club’s colors.
