Giorgio Perinetti expressed his opinion on the composition of the Serie A squads, placing Napoli at the top together with Inter. The observer, speaking to Stile TV, analyzed the situation of the Neapolitan team and the prospects of the Italian championship.
“The Napoli squad is the best in Serie A together with Inter’s. Then, of course, we have to hope that the mishaps of last year don’t happen again, but it’s certain that this squad is competitive,” said Perinetti.
The expert then commented on the work of Massimiliano Allegri, highlighting the coach’s characteristics. “Allegri has great acumen, he knows the important players and it’s obvious that he’s curious about the younger ones to also understand who might be unnecessary and who, on the other hand, could leave. So making a selection is his first job,” he added.
Broadening the discussion to Italian football, Perinetti emphasized the need to review the approach to youth sectors. “All cultural revolutions and all changes come from a mentality that is created from the bottom up. The way of conceiving young players needs to be revised, and Spain gave us this example at the World Cup,” he explained.
Finally, a reference to Pep Guardiola and his possible role in the Italian football system. “Guardiola has great vision, he could drive a change in the system’s mentality but I don’t know what he’s being offered, what tasks he would have. The name fascinates us, but we know very little. We have to wait to understand,” he concluded.
