Inter has presented a comprehensive investment plan for sports infrastructure, with a total allocation of around 100 million euros. The interventions mainly concern the training centers and aim to create modern and functional environments focused on performance.
At the heart of the project is the Inter Training Center in memory of Angelo Moratti, in Appiano Gentile, which will undergo significant expansion. The facility is also intended to host the U23 team, with spaces designed to accompany every phase of the sporting journey.
The total area of the center will increase from the current 80,000 to about 90,000 square meters. The playing fields will increase from four to five, with the addition of an area dedicated to goalkeepers. The technical area will expand from 4,500 to 7,500 square meters, including new spaces for preparation, recovery, and performance management.
The project includes the construction of two new functional hubs. The first, called the “Power House,” will be dedicated to the first team and will include about 800 square meters of space for players and staff, as well as a recovery area and a medical area of 200 square meters each. The second building, the “Future House,” will host the Under 23 with a dedicated field, a covered stand with 150 seats, facilities of about 600 square meters, a gym of 200 square meters, and a hospitality lounge of 150 square meters. The sports center will be ready to welcome the U23 team from the 27/28 season.
Other new features include a new outdoor fitness area, a media area with an 80-seat conference room, spaces for content production, new hospitality areas, and a completely renovated entrance lodge. The plan also includes the development of the Innovation Hub, the department created at the beginning of last season to support all teams through data, video, and expertise applied to technical-tactical, physical, and mental performance.
Particular attention will be paid to the health of the players, with the strengthening of a structure dedicated to return-to-play processes within the medical area. “Infrastructure investments are a symbol of looking to the future for a Club like Inter, which must always aim for excellence. The Oaktree ownership has also immediately recognized the importance and necessity of providing the teams with cutting-edge sports centers that allow our talents to develop at their best and in every aspect,” said Giuseppe Marotta, President and CEO of Inter.
The growth path also involves the Interello Center, a reference point for the Youth and Women’s Sectors. In the last season, the new building for the Women’s First Team and the renovation of the office spaces were completed, while in the coming months the construction of a new covered stand is planned.
