This afternoon at 18:30, Inter takes the field for the championship match against Parma. Simone Inzaghi and his team are back to compete at San Siro in a Serie A match after almost a month, with a need to secure three precious points so as not to let Napoli slip away at the top of the table.

The AIA designated the referee Rosario Abisso to manage this 15th championship round between Inter and Parma. The 39-year-old referee is one of the most experienced in his category, having refereed in Serie A for nearly a decade.

His balance with the biscione a nickname for Inter is quite balanced. In the six previous matches refereed by Abisso, Inter has secured three victories, one draw, and two defeats. However, there was a contentious scenario that occurred in one of these six encounters in 2019.

This was a Fiorentina–Inter match on 24 February 2019 in which the nerazzurri were granted a penalty kick in the final moments of the second half for a handball by Danilo D’Ambrosio that did not exist. That penalty allowed viola to score the 3-3 draw and given the clear mistake, it cost the same referee from the Palermo section to be put on a long break. Until 2021, he did not referee any further matches of the nerazzurri.

That error, however, triggered a string of positive results for Inter with Abisso, scoring two consecutive victories in matches against Verona and Salernitana. Tonight, Inzaghi hopes to extend the winning streak to three matches.

Alongside Abisso, referees Rossi and Cipriani will be accompanying the match while Massimi will be the fourth official. Lastly, in the VAR room in Lissone, Pezzuto and Paterna will be assisting.
