The stellar performance of Inter in the Champions League so far, worth second place in the overall standings behind only Liverpool, could soon translate into a rich bounty for the black-and-blue club’s coffers.

As recalled in today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter has already won 65.2 million euros in this edition alone. This figure takes into account the results achieved, the market pool, the entry bonus and box office revenues, which alone have brought in about 6.5 million euros from the three matches played at San Siro.

Given the current standings, at this stage the chances are high for the black-and-blues to advance to the round of 16 without having to go through the playoffs: an access that would bring an additional 11 million euros into the club’s coffers. Additionally, the ranking position bonus introduced this year will be added up to these: it ranges from 7.98 million for the eighth position to 9.9 million for the first.

In short, if Inter were able to advance directly to the round of 16, they would be entitled to about another 20 million, in addition to the 65 already earned from this Champions. Finally, Oaktree has planned a 3 million euro reward to be split among the players if they end up in the top eight of the standings.
