The Swiss defender Manuel Akanji opened up about his connection with Inter in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. The words of the Swiss center-back describe a deep relationship with the Nerazzurri colors and with the entire environment surrounding the Milanese club.

“Home”: this is the term chosen by Akanji to define his experience at Inter. After winning two trophies with the Nerazzurri shirt, the defender emphasized how from the very first day he felt welcomed by the team, the supporters, and all the people involved with the club.

“It has something special. From the very first day I felt welcomed by the team, the fans, and everyone around the club. I would almost say I immediately felt… safe. Obviously, playing and winning helps too, but Inter never leaves you alone,” said the Swiss player.

The center-back then added a reflection on his growth path: “There are still things to improve and our goal is to achieve that, but this is now home.” Words that testify not only to the attachment developed over these years, but also to the desire to continue growing together with the Nerazzurri group.
