A few minutes before the kick-off of Inter–Fiorentina, the eighth matchday of Serie A, Aldo Serena spoke to the microphones of InterTV from the Meazza, touching on various topics related to the match and beyond.
On the relentless pace of the schedule, the former Nerazzurri striker has no doubts: “Playing every three days is not easy, you need to rotate and the absolute values are clearly different between the two teams, but you always have to be very careful.” A call for concentration, despite the perceived technical gap between the teams.
The return to San Siro also brought back memories: “Memory comes out and thoughts go to those years, in ’88-89 the fans were rewarded with victories and the Scudetto, a fantastic season.” A glorious past that the Nerazzurri fans continue to cherish.
On the Viola team, Serena warned: “Fiorentina has been changed enormously, Mastantuono has communication skills and can cause problems.” A single element, in his opinion, capable of changing the dynamics of the match-up.
He closed with a mention of Lazio: “A great surprise, Gattuso keeps a low profile and doesn’t want to raise the level of attention, the team can train well with a coach who has great grit.”
