After the league victory against Parma, Inter turns its attention back to Europe. Tomorrow evening at San Siro, Bruges arrives, and the Nerazzurri need points after the defeat in their debut against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. According to Tuttosport, Chivu is planning to field “an Inter close to its best lineup.”
All those who remained on the bench on Saturday will return to the starting eleven: Akanji, Bastoni, Barella, and Zielinski. With them, captain Lautaro Martinez, who was initially rested against Parma and then came on for Thuram in the 62nd minute. The two will form the attacking pair, with the Frenchman having trained at Pinetina during the break and appearing in excellent condition.
For the rest, barring surprises, Martinez will be confirmed in goal. In defense, Bisseck returns as right center-back, although it remains to be seen whether Akanji will play as central defender or vice versa. In midfield, Calhanoglu will play, having stayed on the pitch Saturday without any issues. Dimarco is confirmed on the left.
The only doubt could be on the right: Diouf is ahead, but an opportunity for Luis Henrique is not ruled out, nor the possibility of seeing Spence start from the beginning. Chivu will make the final decision between today and tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, in the league, Lazio has caught up with the Nerazzurri at the top of the table with 16 points thanks to their home win against Monza, while Como drew with Roma. But the focus is already on Europe: against Bruges, Inter is looking for its first points in the Champions League group.
