This morning, Marotta received the Volti della Metropoli Award at Palazzo Marino. At the end of the ceremony, the president of Inter answered some questions from ALANews microphones, ranging from tonight’s match against Club Brugge in the Champions League to the stadium issue, and even the mobilization of the Curva Nord.

On the European commitment, the message is clear: “It is an important match for us, like all those in the Champions League. We will face it with the utmost respect for our opponent, but with the desire to achieve a positive result.” On the future stadium, Marotta reiterated what he had anticipated yesterday at the assembly, on the occasion of the approval of the 2025-2026 budget: “What I announced yesterday with my speech at the assembly is that certainly, as soon as possible, Milan and Inter will present what will then be the stadium of the future.”

The Inter president was more tight-lipped, however, when asked about the Curva Nord’s protest after the alleged stop imposed by the club on the display of three banners dedicated to the history of San Siro during the match against Parma: Marotta made broad gestures indicating he did not want to answer on the matter, without making any statement on the point.

As for the recognition received, he described the award as one of the most significant of his career: “It is certainly one of the most significant awards I have been fortunate enough to receive. The Observatory aims to safeguard a perspective on the social aspect, to enhance the city of Milan, so this goes beyond traditional sports awards and identifies itself in a human aspect of great significance.”

The official motivations state that Marotta “has promoted a sports model that combines excellence, the training of new generations, inclusion, and responsibility towards the community.” The text adds: “A vision that goes beyond the competitive dimension and translates into a commitment to promote broader and free access for young people to sports practice, thus contributing to the social growth of Milan and its Metropolitan City.”
