The arrival on the last day of the summer transfer market of Tomas Palacios has kickstarted the process of renovating the defence, which Inter will undertake more systematically in the upcoming market sessions. And a major novelty could arrive as early as January.

According to The Sun, the Nerazzurri are in the pole position for the race to Takehiro Tomiyasu, a defender of Arsenal who has slipped to the bottom of Mikel Arteta‘s pecking order. Considering the player, in addition to Nerazzurri, there would also be Juventus and Napoli.

According to the British newspaper, Tomiyasu would be Inter’s number one target for the winter market, but the Gunners might only let him go for an offer of at least 25 million euros.

The opinion of Passione Inter

Having been targeted by Inter’s directors in the past, Tomiyasu would be a purchase in line with the parameters of Oaktree on the demographic side, a bit less from a financial point of view. It is hard to imagine that the Nerazzurri would invest 25 million in January, unless Arsenal opens up to different formulas, such as a loan with a right (or obligation) to redeem.
