Inter has secured its first defensive reinforcement for next season. John Stones will join the Nerazzurri on a free transfer, while the management continues to assess the situations regarding Romero and Pavard for possible further moves.

The English center-back, 32 years old, has accepted a two-year contract with a salary of around 4 million net per season. Stones was left without a team after ten years at Manchester City and has just played in the World Cup with the English national team, finishing in third place.

According to Libero, Piero Ausilio completed the deal ahead of the competition. Some Premier League clubs and Juventus had shown interest in the defender, but Inter started talks early and reached a final agreement.

The arrival of Stones represents an addition of international experience for the Nerazzurri defense, while waiting to see what other moves will be made in that department.
