Preziosi praises Romero: the former Genoa president considers him an asset for Serie A

Enrico Preziosi, former president of Genoa who brought Cristian Romero to Italy for the first time, expressed his opinion on the Argentine defender in an interview with Tuttosport. “I would be very happy if Romero returned to Italy, he would be an important asset for our Serie A and especially for Inter,” he said.

Preziosi recalled the player’s move to Juventus: “I told Paratici: ‘Look, this is an important player.’ Romero stayed with us for another season, then the Bianconeri decided to sell him to Atalanta at a lower price than what they had paid, with the Nerazzurri then selling him to England for three times the price. It was a huge mistake by Juve, because Romero was a player for Juventus.”

The former executive confirmed the valuation of the center-back: “Today he is definitely worth 40 million euros. I know him very well and now he has matured too, just look at him with Argentina. He never gives up on anything. He is reliable, he deserves a team that wants to win, any top club that needs a center-back should consider him the right piece. If Inter manages to reach an agreement, it would be a great deal.”

Preziosi concluded by highlighting the defender’s potential longevity: “He is 28 years old, but for me he can still play six great seasons.”
