There is little talk about the future moves of Inter in defense, probably because the efforts of the directors are currently entirely dedicated to the Lookman track. Yet, we are talking about a department where a lot of uncertainty reigns for the future: in addition to the exit rumors concerning Pavard and Bisseck, there are as many as three Inter players – Darmian, Acerbi, and de Vrij – who have officially entered their last year of contract.
The prospect of an immediate signing for this summer, with Giovanni Leoni who seemed to be in pole position, is gradually fading away. The central defender from Parma is considered far too expensive, with a valuation of around 40 million euros. However, the real news today, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, concerns Koni De Winter, the first alternative to the 2006-born player.
According to what the pink newspaper wrote, the same central defender from Genoa – a low-cost option compared to Leoni – would in fact only arrive in the event of a departure in the defensive department. Bisseck, however, has recently rejected a proposal from the Premier League and seems determined to stay. Hence the surprising possibility of being able to keep the same men in defense as last year, despite some worrying warning signs that already appeared last season.
