Inter is approaching the end of the transfer window with a particular situation: the financial resources are there, but the club is struggling to turn them into the reinforcements that Cristian Chivu keeps asking for. The coach spoke of a “puzzle to finish” and is especially asking for experience and quality on the right wing.
The main issue is the departures, necessary to free up space in the squad and complete the deals already set up. The initial target was Marco Palestra, but competition from the Premier League has made the deal more complicated. Other profiles considered have not fully convinced, while according to Il Corriere dello Sport the Moussa Diaby track remains open.
To land the Frenchman from Al-Ittihad, it may be necessary to include Asllani or Pavard in the deal. In the absence of developments, Chivu could start the season relying on Luis Henrique and the experiment Andy Diouf.
In defense, Inter has already brought in John Stones, but continues to think about Cristian Romero. The Nerazzurri are said to have reached an agreement with Tottenham on the basis of 35 million plus 5 in bonuses and with the player for about 5.5 million net per season. Before closing, a spot needs to be freed up. Everything once again revolves around Pavard, while Atletico Madrid remains a real threat.
The other top target is Curtis Jones. The Liverpool midfielder would still be willing to wait for Inter, but the departures of Asllani, Frattesi, and Massolin are needed. Meanwhile, Aleksandar Stankovic is growing, the star of an excellent preseason and already a candidate to become, in the near future, one of Calhanoglu’s heirs.
