One of the Inter players who, at least on paper, should have benefited the most from the arrival of Cristian Chivu on the bench is Davide Frattesi. The former Sassuolo midfielder played little under Inzaghi and almost always only in the final segment of the match, while with the Romanian coach a more regular presence on the field was expected.
The characteristics of making runs and going vertical that the number 16 in black and blue has in his technical repertoire fit well with Chivu’s style of play. However, even this year Frattesi is not playing regularly and the other night in Inter-Kairat he disappointed. That is why there is no longer any talk of a contract renewal.
This is what can be read in today’s Corriere dello Sport: “At the end of the summer transfer window, there was talk of starting discussions for a contract renewal. Well, now there is silence. In fact, it would not be a surprise if the idea of a departure as early as January started circulating again. Faced with an adequate offer, Inter would not put up any barriers.”
