Sebastiano Esposito is experiencing a great run of form with the national team jersey. The striker, born in 2002, who moved to Sassuolo in the summer, has stood out during this international window, showing that he can be an important resource for the Azzurri squad.
Alberto Aquilani, coach of the Emilia club, commented on the young striker’s progress to Sky Sport, revealing what his approach has been since his arrival: “I put it in Sebastiano Esposito’s head from the moment he arrived, the goal of the national team: we didn’t expect it right away, we have to make him understand that he can stay there for several years, because he’s at the right age to do certain things.”
The former midfielder then broadened the discussion to the other young players in the squad: “My boys are young and very talented, they are showing in the national team what they are doing here as well. And I hope others will get there too, because I believe they can.”
Aquilani also spoke ahead of the league match against Milan: “Serie A is always difficult and competitive, this year I think we’ve seen improvement with the rules, referees letting you play, and a higher tempo. It will be a tough match, we’re facing a great team, but we have our weapons and we must keep believing.”
