Francesco Pio Esposito has extended his contract with Inter until 2032. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri club took advantage of the June 2025 decree law that allows the maximum duration of contracts to be extended from five to eight football seasons.
The striker put pen to paper yesterday, also securing a significant pay rise: his salary has been tripled and now amounts to 2.7 million per season plus easy bonuses that will allow him to exceed 3 million. This is an average salary compared to the Nerazzurri squad, but with room for future growth in case of further progress on the pitch.
Esposito‘s choice reflects a deep attachment to the Nerazzurri colors. In the spring he received offers from the Premier League, similar to those accepted by his peer Palestra, but he chose to ignore them. His goal is to become a symbol for the team he has been with since childhood, as explained by Gazzetta dello Sport.
At 21, the young striker has already exceeded Chivu‘s most optimistic expectations for speed of integration and consistency of performance. He is not yet the infallible finisher who breaks down defenses on every occasion—as shown by the mistake against Cagliari in an otherwise positive match—but he represents a safe investment for the club. Before formalizing the agreement, the Nerazzurri directors verified the absence of formal obstacles for this contractual innovation. Once they received legal reassurances, they proposed the longest contract ever, receiving enthusiastic approval from the player’s entourage.
