As reported in recent days, Inter will have to make a decision about the eight contracts expiring at the end of this season in a few months. To date, the only well-tabled renewal seems to be that of Denzel Dumfries: the parties have been talking for months, waiting to reach an agreement that can satisfy everyone.
Two delicate cases, however, concern the central pillars of Simone Inzaghi’s defense: Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij. Both will expire on June 30, 2025 and at least one of the two could leave. Two players on whom the age factor weighs: the Italian will turn 37 in February, while the Dutchman will blow out 33 candles in the same month.
A possible replacement, as reported by Corriere dello Sport, Inter have already identified in Serie A. This is Jaka Bijol, a class 1999 defender who started very strong this season with Udinese. Promoted with full marks from a technical point of view, the Slovenian would have also already received the OK from Oaktree.
The American fund considers Bijol an ideal candidate for the future of Inter, not only for his young age which fits perfectly into their parameters, but also for the enormous potential that could further develop in a Nerazzurri jersey.
