Once the international break in early September is behind, a crucial period will open for Inter. In fact, the Nerazzurri club has recently set a deadline related to the signing of a top-level footballer.
As written this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter expects a clear response – one way or another – from Denzel Dumfries. Negotiations for the renewal of the contract expiring in June 2025 have been going on for about a year. After the initial stalemate over the figures, last June saw a somewhat unexpected openness from the Dutch player’s entourage to the 4 million salary proposed by the Inter managers (almost doubled compared to the current 2.5 million).
Despite the excellent relationships and the rapprochement between the parties, the white smoke has not yet arrived. For this reason, when he returns from duties with the Dutch National team set for a week’s time, Dumfries will have to communicate his final answer to Inter. A deal that, if it happens, will be under Nerazzurri’s terms: a net salary of 4 million without any termination clause.
