Despite having shown great strength in its match against Lazio in the Coppa Italia, which allowed it to remain in contention for all three competitions – the only Italian team to have accomplished this this year – the morning press review only discusses Inter in a controversial light.

Following the accusations from Tuttosport regarding the Lautaro case, the Corriere dello Sport has pointed the finger with words from its director against the goal scored by Marko Arnautovic against the biancocelesti. Specifically, Ivan Zazzaroni was not at all convinced by the explanation given by the AIA, considering it even worse than the decision made by the VAR not to intervene in the specific case.

Here is his editorial: “When the explanation is worse than the error. Yesterday, the AIA judged Fabbri’s decision in Inter-Lazio as correct. The association, aunt of Open Var, confirmed that Arnautovic’s goal 1 – 0 should not have been annulled, despite De Vrij being offside on the line of vision, called Lov. Each Time You Fall in Lov, sings Gianluca Rocchi from Florence. But listen why: according to the acquitted Fabbri and Chiffi, the Dutchman’s position did not prevent Mandas from intervening. ‘The Inter’s center – this is the clarification – is far from the goalkeeper and the ball does not pass his way… We are also facing a shot that is hard to parry.’ This is a new chapter of the fantasy protocol: in fact, we have moved from interpretation to referee assumption. Fabbri assumed that Mandas could not succeed – due to manifest inability? – in preventing Arna Letale’s goal.”

And so, two days away from the title clash between Napoli-Inter, the controversies continue to be praised more than the credits that should instead be recognized to the nerazzurri for what they have done so far in a season that has been far from simple.
