The draw for the 2025 Club World Cup took place this evening, the first edition of this competition which will involve 32 teams divided into eight groups of four teams each. The event will be held from June 15 to July 13, 2025 in the United States.

The last time the Inter took part in this cup was in 2010 when they won that edition held in the United Arab Emirates just a few months after achieving the historic Triplete but also played some strange matches.

Simone Inzaghi’s team was placed in group E with three opponents from different confederations. The Nerazzurri in their group will have to play against River Plate, Monterrey and Urawa Red Diamonds. The opponents of the Nerazzurri will then be Argentinean, Mexican, and Japanese.

In the event of advancing to the next round, the Inter in the round of 16 will have to face one of the two teams from group F the first challenge the second from the other group and vice versa. Therefore, at least on paper, for Lautaro Martinez and his teammates could keep an eye on Fluminense and Borussia Dortmund which are the highest rated teams in that grouping.
