No good news is coming from Appiano Gentile regarding the condition of Marcus Thuram. The French striker has continued therapy in recent days to try to speed up his recovery from the hamstring injury he suffered in the Champions League victory over Slavia Prague. The center forward has been checked again by the Nerazzurri medical staff, who have given their verdict.
Contrary to the hopes held in recent hours, Thuram will not be able to work a miracle and recover in time for the away match in Rome on Saturday, October 18. On the advice of the staff, Marcus will therefore have to respect the normal recovery times and try to be 100% fit for the big match the following week against Napoli.
As explained by La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, “the recovery is going well”, but “the checks in recent days have been decisive”: Inter wants to make sure they get a Thuram in top condition, not a player at 70% with a very high risk of relapse. Hence the decision not to rush or bring forward his return to the field, placing their trust against Roma in the two strikers who have been performing so well in his absence alongside Lautaro: Bonny and Pio Esposito.
