Lautaro Martinez has proven on several occasions to be a key player for Inter. Since wearing the captain’s armband, in particular, the Argentine has become a true technical leader, establishing himself as one of the best strikers around.

However, Luis Suarez does not seem to agree. The Uruguayan, now at Inter Miami, was for a long time one of the best number 9s around and, interviewed by streamer Davoo Xeneize, he listed his 3 favorite players in the role at the moment.

While acknowledging his value, Suarez excluded Lautaro Martinez from the podium, preferring Julian Alvarez, Harry Kane, and Haaland.

These were his words:

“As starting number nines, I would first go for Julián Álvarez, then Harry Kane and Haaland. I like Haaland much more than Lautaro Martínez, which doesn’t mean I don’t like Lautaro, I adore him. He has grown at Inter, the reference point in Argentina’s attack, together with Julián they fight for that spot, and the place where he is today he earned by himself.”
