The captain of Inter Lautaro Martinez spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport on the eve of the match against Real Madrid, valid for the new edition of the Champions League. The Argentine striker appeared determined despite the little time available to recover after the victory over Napoli.
“We had little time to recover, but we are ready to face this new edition of this prestigious competition. Ready to play a great match against a valuable opponent, we will try to do everything in the best way to bring a good result to Milan,” said Martinez.
On overturning the result against Napoli, Lautaro explained: “Being two goals down was difficult, but even with the substitutions we had a lot of positive energy, plus the fans, it was important to turn the result around and bring it to our side.” The striker then commented on his celebration: “I suffered a lot as a child, you definitely improve, I always try to convey this, the most important thing is to give everything on the pitch, on Saturday we did it against a very strong opponent.”
On the growth of the Nerazzurri club, the captain added: “We are on a positive path where we have won many trophies, the path is correct, it is a path of constant growth. We are facing a team with players of the highest level, we have our weapons, tomorrow we have to put in a great performance.”
Finally, on the season’s objectives: “Every year that begins, the main objective is not only the Champions League, but also the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia, the Supercoppa, because that’s how it is, you play to win trophies, you play in a great club like Inter.”
