Ranocchia: Chivu wants to prove he has surpassed Mourinho

Andrea Ranocchia has expressed his confidence in Inter‘s chances ahead of the match against Real Madrid. The former Nerazzurri defender, speaking to Sport Mediaset, commented on the team’s current form and the comparison between Cristian Chivu and José Mourinho.

“Inter is a team with great confidence, because they are coming off a victory against Napoli that few teams would have managed after being 2-0 down,” said Ranocchia. “I hope they can do well in Madrid; they are facing one of the best teams in the world but have all the qualities to stand up to the best teams in the world.”

The focus is also on the duel on the bench at the Bernabeu. “There are many connections. It will certainly be a great match. Inter fans will always be attached to Mourinho because he did something extraordinary, but I think Chivu wants to give a lesson to show that he has surpassed the master a bit,” concluded the former defender.
