After the first three championship days in which the team enjoyed entire weeks of rest between one game and another, after the break the calendar of Inter will radically change and consequently Simone Inzaghi’s choices, who has so far relied on the main players against Genoa, Lecce and Atalanta. From mid-September, in fact, the Champions League will begin.
Upon return after the break, the nerazzurri will be immediately expected to play a set of three games within a week: first in Monza, then at Manchester City’s home and finally the derby against Milan. By feeling and thickness of the opponents, the game that could be most subject to turnover and rotations is the first one.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, giving two new acquisitions already in Brianza the start of the game is not excluded: it is the midfielder Piotr Zielinski and the goalkeeper Josep Martinez, who haven’t made their debut with Inter’s jersey yet. The two could replace Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Yann Sommer, who will likely start against City and Milan.
Monza-Inter team, revolution in sight for Inzaghi
But that’s not all, because the changes in the lineup could be as many as eight in total. In defense, Stefan de Vrij and Carlos Augusto might start. The midfield would be overturned for four interpreters on five. In addition to the already mentioned Zielinski, ready are Denzel Dumfries, Davide Frattesi, and Kristjan Asllani.
In the front, it is unlikely that Lautaro Martinez or Mehdi Taremi will start as both will be returning from long trips after commitments with Argentina and Iran. The attack duo most likely to start according to the CdS is that formed by Marcus Thuram and Marko Arnautovic.
Extremely unlikely, instead, a start from the first minute for Tomas Palacios, who will only have his first training with the group tomorrow: the young defender today is in Argentina to resolve some bureaucratic issues.
