Speaking to DAZN, Simone Inzaghi commented on Inter’s resounding 6-0 victory against Lazio in the 16th round of Serie A. Here are his words:

PERFORMANCE – “We beat a team in a great moment. We didn’t disunite in the first 20 minutes, we kept our distance. Then we raised the technical level and after the third goal it all became much easier thanks to these guys, who have been giving me a great commitment for 3 and a half years. I am proud to be their coach. We achieved a significant victory against a very great team”.

MESSAGE TO THE LEAGUE – “Are we the strongest? The field will tell. We wanted to have a great match and we prepared well since we came back from Leverkusen. Message to the league? We have a game to recover. We have many games and it will be complicated. We will always try to perform well. We have had a great consistency in these 2 and a half months, but in the league, the standings are this and there are many strong teams”.

DEFENSE – “The goal with Parma made me mad because we didn’t deserve it the way we defended. Then it’s been a month that we play always and in defense we have rotation difficulties. Bisseck did a good first time and I had both yellow cards. Darmian came in as the third defender after last year he was one of the best fifths in the league with great intelligence, as always”.

PRIDE – “The thing I am most proud of is what the players put into the game. Then playing at these rhythms they have to always put it into the game and they show it every day. They are a great group and I am trying to let everyone play because they deserve it. Then I have to make choices and they know that people have been waiting since September 20, from the derby, for us to stumble, as unfortunately happened with Leverkusen. Much has been said, but luckily I have guys who, like me, listen little and pedal a lot”.
