The decisive goal bears the signature of Marello: a goal in the 62nd minute gives Inter U23 a 2-1 victory over Scafatese in the rescheduled match of the eighth round of group C of Serie C, played at the Breda stadium in Sesto San Giovanni.
The match opened with Inter taking the lead thanks to Zuberek in the 36th minute: a cross from the right by Amerighi, the Pole controls and finds the coordination to beat Forte. Three minutes later, however, Scafatese equalized with Palmieri, who skillfully took advantage of a long pass from Brunet and surprised Marello in a one-on-one with Melgrati.
In the second half, Inter pushed forward consistently, coming close to taking the lead several times. Kaczmarski found the net with a right-footed diagonal shot, but the linesman raised his flag for Charlys‘ offside. Then Amerighi hit the post with a header from a corner taken by Marello. The 2-1 goal came in the 62nd minute with Marello, who sealed the match.
The match also featured a controversial episode midway through the second half: the referee showed a straight red card to Bacchetti after a foul on Amerighi at the edge of the box, only to review the decision on the monitor and change the sanction to a yellow card. Previously, a penalty initially awarded to Inter was also overturned.
The Nerazzurri coach Vecchi opted for a lineup with several new faces: Donati and Garonetti in defense with Tosto, Fiordilino in midfield, and a debut start for Charlys, with the attacking pair made up of Iddrissou and Fumagalli. Iddrissou left the field in the 19th minute due to a physical problem, replaced by Zuberek. Scafatese, one of the most in-form teams in the group with three wins in their last four and unbeaten in eight games, only gave way at the end.
