The Nerazzurri club wanted to join the football world in mourning the passing of Jesús de Miguel, a CD Tenerife player who died at the age of thirty. The official statement was published on inter.it, where the club expressed its closeness to the family, the Spanish team, and the young man’s teammates.

De Miguel had spent days in intensive care following a violent collision during a match: the opposing goalkeeper, who had come out as far as midfield, accidentally struck him with a knee directly in the chest. The player collapsed to the ground and remained motionless. Medical assistance arrived promptly and the player was stabilized in the hospital, but the consequences of the collision proved fatal.

“Inter joins in mourning for the tragic passing of Jesús de Miguel, player of CD Tenerife,” reads the club’s official statement. “The Club stands close to the Spanish player’s family, his club, and his teammates in this moment of deep sorrow,” the statement continues.
