A goal and a convincing victory: Francesco Pio Esposito spoke to Sky Sport microphones at the end of the 3-0 win handed out by Inter to Feyenoord at the de Kuip stadium, sharing his impressions of the Dutch evening.
“It wasn’t a given to react like this, on a field that’s anything but easy,” said the striker. “We had the right approach, immediately steering the match our way. Defeats are analyzed, we did that, and I’m happy that we followed up on the words we said to each other.”
On the possible impact in the Champions League and the race for the top eight spots, Esposito does not rule anything out: “Of course, it’s still a long way to go, we’re taking it one game at a time. We’ll do the math at the end, we can compete with anyone.”
The striker hadn’t scored since the match against Udinese. On returning to the scoresheet, he commented: “For a striker, a goal is always oxygen. I always put the work for the team above everything, but I’m happy to have broken the drought.”
