Douvikas slows down: too early to talk about challenging Inter

Tasos Douvikas commented on Como‘s excellent start to the season in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Greek striker, a key player in the league and in the Champions League, prefers not to get carried away by the excitement: “It’s a wonderful feeling. We have worked hard to get to this moment and to win like this, in front of our fans, is something that will remain forever in the minds of the people of Como. But we already have to think about the next match: this is the most delicate moment in which we must keep our concentration high.”

The striker’s numbers speak for themselves: three goals in four matches, which become six in the last nine games if you also consider last season. This performance led him to finish as Serie A’s second top scorer, behind only Lautaro, tied with Malen. “I’m pleased, strikers live for goals and above all for consistency. I want to help the team in every match, not just by scoring. After all, the greatest joy last year came from the result in the standings.”

According to the pink newspaper, Douvikas responded cautiously to those who see Como as a possible anti-Inter along with Roma: “It’s really too early to talk about things like this, in Serie A there are many other top-level teams.”
