Federico Dimarco spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport on the sidelines of the Gran Galà AIC, where he received the MVP award for the Serie A 2025-26 season. The Inter winger addressed several topics, from his contract renewal to the upcoming match against Napoli, and the departure of Ausilio.
Regarding the award and the season just ended, Dimarco stated: “Last season started from the Champions League final lost against PSG. The work started immediately, all together we rowed in the same direction to do better. I think we achieved an incredible double, which no one expected. On a personal level, it was an incredible season, between goals and assist records.”
Asked about possible interest from Barcelona and his renewal with the Nerazzurri, the winger replied: “First of all, it’s nice to be linked to these great clubs. But you know my story at Inter, I grew up here. As for the renewal, at the moment we haven’t talked about it yet. I was hoping it would happen, given how last season ended, there will be a chance to talk about it soon.”
Looking ahead to the next match, Dimarco emphasized: “Napoli is strong, they finished second last year. We haven’t beaten them in several matches, we’ll have to bring home three crucial points.” Finally, a word on Ausilio’s departure: “Honestly, I didn’t expect it, I read about it in the newspapers after training. He’s someone I’m attached to, someone I care about. I want to give him a hug and wish him all the best for the future.”
