The injury to Benjamin Pavard is certainly a setback for Inter’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, since the schedule of upcoming commitments is very dense and an optimal journey would require all squad members to be at their top form.
The natural substitute for the French defender is Yann Aurel Bisseck, who this season has proven to be a fully reliable player for Inter’s rear-guard. Inzaghi greatly values him and often fields him, having already tested him in all three positions of his defensive line.
In these weeks where Pavard will be out, Bisseck will become the first choice and one of the players called upon to block all opponents’ advances in the many matches Inter will have to play. This season he has performed very well in both halves of the field, earning him praise from major clubs around Europe.
This morning, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that several teams are interested in the 2000 class centre-back, among them is Bayern Munich, which for a renewal of its defense next summer has targeted Inter’s defender.
It will be up to the club in the coming months, based on his performance, to decide whether to retain Bisseck or to sell him for an amount that today is around 40 million euros, at least this would be Inter’s requests according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The German centre-back is one of the players who has shown the most growth in the last two seasons under Simone Inzaghi’s direction, and he might soon receive a call from Germany to be called up to the national team and possibly make his debut against Italy in the Nations League in March.
