The name of Nicolò Bertola has been circulating for several weeks regarding Inter’s interest, who appreciate the qualities of the Spezia defender, whose contract is due to expire at the end of the season. He is a young player born in 2003 but of great talent and there is interest from other Serie A teams as well.
The sports newspaper, Tuttosport, in its today’s edition, reports a market update related to this deal. The name of Bertola is not a priority for Inter, but it remains certainly still on the Nerazzurri’s target list because he is considered a very promising profile for the future.
However, since his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, Inter doesn’t want to get involved already to avoid any conflict. But they have decided to wait a few more weeks – hypothetically until the end of December – to understand if the defender wants to renew his contract with Spezia.
From one point of view, a contract renewal could even be beneficial for Nerazzurri if Spezia manages to secure promotion to Serie A because they could loan Bertola to the Bianconeri for another season, allowing him to gain some experience in Italy’s top league in a context he already knows.
