Dario Baccin is the new sporting director of Inter. According to Corriere dello Sport, the club has chosen to promote an internally grown profile to replace Piero Ausilio, the historic Nerazzurri executive.
He inherited the role from his mentor sixteen years after graduating with top marks from Coverciano. Coming from a strictly Nerazzurri family, he arrived in Milan in 2017 as deputy sporting director, after managerial experiences at Siena, for a short period, and especially at Palermo, where he was strongly wanted by his mentor Giorgio Perinetti.
At Inter, he mainly dealt with scouting, with particular attention to South America. Later, he became a promoter of the Under 23 project, fully embracing the strategy of Oaktree as well. The club has therefore opted for a homegrown executive to take the reins of the technical area.
