Interviewed today by Sky Sport, Alessandro Florenzi commented on the performance of the Italian National Team last night against Germany. At the moment, partly due to the numerous injuries he has sustained over the past few months, the Milan full-back is not among the players selected for the national team. Nevertheless, he continues to strongly support his fellow countrymen.
Florenzi has recently returned to Milan’s squad for a couple of matches after suffering a partial cruciate ligament injury; however, he has yet to make his debut this season. In his latest interview, the defender risked drawing the ire of Milan supporters by praising Nicolò Barella, a midfielder from city rivals Inter with whom he played alongside in the national team.
These were Florenzi’s words, clearly impressed by the Inter player: For me, there is a player who unfortunately… I know Milan will want to kill me, say whatever you like. But Barella really… as a player, he’s incredible, but as a person he’s even better. I congratulate him, he has already written many important pages for Italy and I’m sure he will write even more.
