The YouTube channel of Serie A has published some footage of Bologna–Inter filmed from the perspective of referee Doveri, thanks to the Refcam. Among the moments captured by the camera is the debated contact in the rossoblu penalty area between Thuram and Darmian, which sparked discussion at the Dall’Ara last Saturday.
The footage shows the match official from the Rome 1 section who, immediately after the incident, exclaims “Nothing” to communicate to the connected refereeing team that, in his opinion, there were no grounds to award a penalty. As he approaches the French striker to notify him of the yellow card for simulation, Thuram can be heard responding: “I swear, I swear,” indicating that he had not thrown himself to the ground.
Meanwhile, Darmian, passing nearby, adds: “I didn’t touch him.” Doveri ends the exchange with: “He didn’t do anything to you, go. Thank you.”
Shortly after, the defender complains about being hit in the face by Bonny: “A little respect. He told me ‘get up, let’s go.’” Thuram, for his part, ends the moment with a playful gesture, caressing his teammate’s forehead.
